School Review Training – Leading a Review

The goal of this training is to prepare school leaders to undertake and lead a school review. The course will equip lead reviewers with the skills to lead a team effectively and ensure the review process is adhered to as objectively, collegially and fairly as possible.

Course objectives

To be able to lead, direct and organise a team of reviewers effectively on a school review.
To identify the quality of and progress made by schools in relation to all academic standards.
To use the evidence provided by schools in terms of their SEF, SDP and other documents to evaluate student achievement, quality of teaching and learning and impact of leadership and management.
To identify and consider the school’s strengths and weaknesses in relation to education provision, leadership and pastoral care.

How the course is assessed: During the session participants will be asked to complete a range of activities. Full participation in the session is required including completing the feedback form in order to gain the certificate of participation.
