Tier 2 Programme – National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL)

The NPQSL gives candidates all of the essential knowledge, skills and concepts that underpin successful senior leadership with candidates learning how to:

  • Contribute to establishing and sustaining the school’s strategic direction.
  • Contribute to establishing and sustaining an effective culture across the school.
  • Establish and sustain effective planning and preparation across the school.
  • Ensure teaching across the school stimulates pupil thinking and understanding.

Target Audience: The NPQSL is suitable for school leaders who are, or are soon to commence, a senior leadership role with cross-school responsibilities.

Certification: NPQSL Qualification and 30 Masters Credits

How the course is assessed: A final summative assessment-case study
Participants must engage in 90% of the course elements determined by the provider.

Prerequisites: Applicants must be experienced middle leaders who are about to embarak on a senior leadership role to allow for application of the formative assessment tasks.
