This course is intended to highlight the significant impact positive behaviour management has on a classroom environment and, ultimately, the impact of learning and progress learners make. This will draw participants’ attention to the research behind the theory that positive relationships are at the core of a successful learning environment. Participants will be given the opportunity to discuss some of the research behind this as well as explore a variety of behaviour management strategies. Participants will be given time to reflect on their own behaviour management strategies and pedagogy. Participants will take what they have experienced in this session through instruction and professional dialogue with colleagues to make a behavior management plan for the year ahead.
Course objectives
- To understand and explore the types of challenging behaviour we might face in a physical or virtual classroom.
- To explore a range of routines and response systems.
- To reflect on the behaviour management strategies explored and create a behaviour plan to be implemented in an educational setting.

How the course is assessed: Attendance to the session and completion of the evaluation and reflection is mandatory to complete the course and receive a certificate of attendance.
Prerequisites: Teachers should be teaching in either the KG/Elementary or EYFS/Primary section of their school.
