This course will focus on the importance of teaching children’s literature, reading procedures, guided reading, and promoting reading.
Course objectives
- Provide an overview of teaching reading.
- Identify the importance of teaching children’s literature.
- Provide an overview of guided reading and its purpose and components.
- Explore assessment tools for different purposes-diagnostic and progress monitoring.
- Develop different ways to promote reading.
