Student independence and agency are growing areas of interests for schools across the world, and enhancing provision in these areas is essential under the UAE Inspection Framework. During the course of this session, participants will consider strategies for developing student independence from K-12, and also how to develop agency. The course looks at agency within the classroom, school community, and at a national level.
Course objectives
- Understand strategies and techniques for engaging students as independent learners.
- Develop an understanding of student agency and the role is plays in school and the wider community.
- Understand the place of independence of agency within the UAE Inspection Framework.
