The course will ask participants to engage with the research behind inclusion, explore a range of strategies and their intended impact and finally look at different ways to apply these in their settings. Participants will explore various aspects of inclusive education, including understanding the concept of PoD students and the challenges they may face in an educational setting. The course will provide insights into different types of PoD students and learning differences, as well as strategies for accommodating and adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
Course objectives
- Identify what inclusion is and what it is not.
- Understand the benefits to all learners when we adopt inclusive practice.
- Explore how we can implement strategies in our own classrooms to make them fully inclusive.
- Support working with parents, guardians, and support professionals.
- Develop collaborative teaching approaches and team-based interventions.
