The aim of this course is to provide participants with the context of the E.A.L needs within a UAE classroom. Participants will be given a chance to explore a wide range of strategies and resources to help support E.A.L learners in their classroom as well as, looking at ways to scaffold learning activities to enable all learners to achieve and succeed. This course aims to offer an effective and informative balance of the theory and the practice to working with a diverse student body.
Course objectives
- To understand the processes of an EAL learner.
- To explore a variety of useful strategies and resources to support the EAL learner.
- To create an overview of strategies and resources for implementation.
Target Audience: Classroom Assistants, HLTA’s, Teachers, Middle Leaders, Senior Leaders.
Certification: ATA Certificate of Attendance
How the course is assessed: Participants will complete an overview of strategies and resources for implementation. Participants will be invited to a follow-up session to showcase the strategies and resources they have implemented with a professional discussion around efficacy and impact on student outcomes and learner motivation.
Prerequisites: This course is suitable for any practitioner who works within an EAL context.
