Introduction
The goal of this training is to school leaders to undertake and be part of a school review. The course will equip reviewers with the skills to be part of an effective part of a school review team and ensure the review process is adhered to as objectively, collegially and fairly as possible.
Course objectives:
- To be able to be an effective school reviewer and take instruction and direction from the designated lead.
- To identify the quality of and progress made by schools in relation to all academic standards.
- To use the evidence provided by schools in terms of their SEF, SDP and other documents to evaluate student achievement, quality of teaching and learning and impact of leadership and management.
- To identify and consider the school’s strengths and weaknesses in relation to education provision, leadership and pastoral care.
Target Audience: SLT & HQ
Certification: ATA Certificate of Attendance
How the course is assessed: It is expected that school reviewers should attend reviewer training at least once per annum.
Prerequisites: Participants are expected to be school senior leaders or hold an equivalent post. Penta and or Tribal training would also be an advantage.
