Introduction
The goal of this training is to prepare school leaders to undertake and lead a school review. The course will equip lead reviewers with the skills to lead a team effectively and ensure the review process is adhered to as objectively, collegially and fairly as possible.
Course objectives:
- To be able to lead, direct and organise a team of reviewers effectively on a school review
- To identify the quality of and progress made by schools in relation to all academic standards.
- To use the evidence provided by schools in terms of their SEF, SDP and other documents to evaluate student achievement, quality of teaching and learning and impact of leadership and management.
- To identify and consider the school’s strengths and weaknesses in relation to education provision, leadership and pastoral care.
Target Audience: PRINCIPALS
Certification: ATA Certificate of Attendance
How the course is assessed: It is expected that lead reviewers should attend lead review training at least once per annum.
Prerequisites: Participants are expected to be principals, effective school leaders or hold an equivalent post. Penta and or Tribal training would also be an advantage.
