ARABIC LANGUAGE DELIVERY
We will explore the guided reading approach and share practical ideas to support the planning, teaching and management of guided reading at all levels. Participants will examine a guided reading lesson, learn how to form appropriate groups, and choose appropriate texts for small-group instruction. In addition, participants will receive ideas on how to assess students and create meaningful literacy activities for all students in the classroom.
Course objectives:
- The rationale for guided reading
- The development of reading skills and strategies
- An overview of the reading process
- Teacher tips for managing guided reading (Student grouping – The teacher as coach – The responsibilities of students)
- The guided reading lesson.
- Strategies for increasing student participation
- Ways to foster rich conversations around texts
- Teaching for assured success
Target Audience: Teachers/ Middle Leaders /Literacy coach
Certification: ATA Certificate of Attendance
How the course is assessed: Attendance to the full day workshop and completion of the evaluation and feedback form.
