This course will look specifically at how society defines leadership and what leadership means in the context of being a school middle leader eg Grade/Subject/Area.
Learning objectives:
- To gain an understanding of what leadership is in society
- To identify the skills required of a Middle Leader and assess which ones are your strengths and which areas to develop
- To acknowledge and understand the difference between leadership and management
- To learn about different leadership behaviours and styles and identify their own leadership behaviours and styles.
- To explore what school leaders, do to become an effective leader.
Target Audience: Middle Leaders
Certification: ATA Certificate of Participation
How the course is assessed: Assessments will be assigned based on course activities
Prerequisites: Participants should be current school middle leaders or interested/ready to start their first leadership position
