ENGLISH LANGUAGE DELIVERY

This course will teach aspiring Middle Leaders’ the principles behind a broad, ambitious, and compelling curriculum. It will explore the evidence base and how to implement sustainable curriculum change, that not only meets the needs of all students but ensures they exceed their potential.

Course objectives

To know the evidence base and the implications this has for curriculum design
To understand what strategic curriculum leadership look like
To understand the UAE National Agenda and implications for curriculum practice
To understand that an effective literacy strategy is an effective achievement strategy and how to embed language development across every subject
To understand the alignment between curriculum, pedagogy and assessment
To understand how to evaluate curriculum provision, using the UAE inspection framework and other tools
To demonstrate what long- term sustainable curriculum planning looks like

Target Audience: Middle Leaders

Certification: Tier 4 Middle Leadership Certificate of Professional Development with transcript will be awarded to participants upon completion.

How the course is assessed: Participants will be expected to create and complete a curriculum model based on learning from the course module.

Prerequisites: Participants should already be enrolled on the ATA Middle Leadership Programme
