This course focuses on the 5 key principles of Assessment for Learning (AfL):
- Sharing the learning objective.
- Sharing the success criteria.
- Quality questioning.
- Quality feedback.
- Self and peer assessment.
The course explores each principle in detail, exploring the latest research as well as highlighting how when aligned and utilised effectively in the classroom, these principles are highly impactful in raising student achievement and learning confidence.
Course objectives
- To identify and explore the key principles of AfL.
- To examine each of the key principles in depth in terms of impact on student achievement and learning.
- To consider the impact the 5 principles have when used in unison.
Target Audience: Class Teachers and Middle Leaders
Certification: ATA Certificate of Attendance
How the course is assessed: Participants will complete an overview of strategies and resources for implementation. Participants will be invited to a follow-up session to showcase the strategies and resources they have implemented with a professional discussion around efficacy and impact on student outcomes and learner motivation.
